10 things to do in the dark of the Syokimau train...

1. Walk down the aisle, jumping across outstretched legs, hoping not to step on one as you make you're way towards the dark empty couches at the back.

2. Laugh at the man stretched out on  the chairs...he must think he's already home...ama it's the darkness?
3. Settle down and think, 'Should I lie down or just behave myself?'
4. Reach into the dark recesses of your bag and find the mandazi and sausage you bought from Apondoz. Acknowledge that this is becoming a habit and promise yourself not to do this next week.
5. Fold your legs under and across you on the seat, lean head on your hand and doze off.

6.Take pictures to update your WhatApp conversation as you journal your 'Ride in a Dark Train' short story.
7. Swat at mosquitoes biting your feet.

8. Take pictures of the beauty of the passing night lights from the dark train.
9. Pull your feet up onto the chair again, you never should have put them back down in that darkness, and Scratch! Scratch! Scratch!

10. Look back as you run out of the train to make sure you have not left anything. You may have to do this as soon as you get up, because it's a bit dark in there, you know...?
